In 1962 Gerhard Mendelson, Polydor label producer, offers a Mina record some singles for the German market. She accepts, and starts a successful collaboration with the teacher Scharfenberger Werner.
The first song recorded in German Mina was "Hot Arena" . Well, maybe that was singing in German too ... it was actually a slang mix of Italian and German that had some unintelligible words. However, the success was overwhelming. In March of that year, Mina is presented in a German TV show where he presented "Heisser sand" , and in less than ten days, the album sold 40,000 copies, reaching the top spot in sales, remaining in the charts 31 weeks, totaling sales of 1,300,000 copies, and its best-selling single in German. In that single
followed "Brasiliana party" and "Taboo" , two very strong. The three broke sales records and are among the best selling single records in Germany in the 1960's. Then followed among others "Captain" in 1963 (No. 17 of sales) "My door is always open" (highest position: No. 33), or "Until next time" (No. 35). All these records are now a rarity in the markets of old records, but also in Germany Mina has his legion of fans. Not long ago all these singles were collected in this CD, we present here.
