Franco Battiato - a murmur of electrical origin (CD + DVD) (2005)

March 23 Today the great Franco Battiato turns 66 and it seemed a good way to celebrate sharing this little known and unpublished work for those who live outside Europe.

This album (double CD presentation and DVD) recorded concert Franco Battiato in Nelson Mandela Forum in Florence, offered on February 17, 2005, under the "X Stratagemmi tour . It's a shame that Sony has decided to reduce costs in time and not to publish a double CD, the concert has been reduced to 60 minutes, eliminating many songs in concert.

Anyway, what is presented here is an exceptional display songs from the album "X Stratagemi ", an unreleased until now ( "Come away death" , a sonnet by Shakespeare) and classic of his repertoire. The sound and images are fabulous, and the contents of the CD and the DVD is the same.

XIX lives

Sometimes that same feeling of fear the viewer may feel in a movie theater watching a good horror movie can move to the real life of an ordinary citizen or even that of an actor or actress as in this case happened to actor William Ragsdale while filming Fright Night, also may be that they give players the fright of their lives of innocent citizens by the mere fact that they wear forget monsters. On the other hand it can also happen that sometimes the actors and not the average citizen will see face to face with the supernatural. Dear readers, for the second time, the first being in Film Lives 16, unusual events may read here, rather than in the life of certain actors. Enjoy.

During the filming Fright Night , Holland prevented William Rags e dal me to see Amanda Bearse vamp makeup before filming the scene where Char him and Amy discovers already converted, to get a realistic expression of surprise the actor; and he did: Ragsdale hit a jump.

When
Narcizo Ibañez Menta was and n shooting the episode watch the movie: "Masterpieces of Terror " , an incident happened, Enrique Carreras commented:
"... at that time, to compose his miser" The Tell-Tale Heart "is had prepared an eye porcelain was placed himself all d ies, does ndo look creepy. One afternoon we were in the middle of shooting, amid no heat or overwhelming, and the silence of a small set is heard or noise. Narcizo immediately so personal with his voice, asked: "Please cut " what had p roast? was broken porcelain and was quite an ordeal to extract the particles without damaging the eye r. When we begin to breathe easy and recompose the shock, Narcizo respond: "We have oj get another or , "he said," the German will travel tomorrow . We ran, I carry in my car, and the trouble, Narcizo not pulled the makeup or change of clothes, lit eral was a m or nstruo! Maipú crossed the avenue, entered Cabildo, and turned right looking for the house of the German, address q ue Narcizo not remember accurately. I ring the bell on several houses, and horror ladies appeared immediately closed the door, running scared. I I think he enjoyed at the bottom of the situations that cause ba. At last we give to the happy home and order a new eye to continue with the filming of "Masterpieces of Terror."

During the period in which Narcizo Ibañez Menta recorded: " The Cursed Doll," for the cycle: "Masterpieces of Terro r" Diana Alvarez, who at that then one of the assistants Narcizo Ibañez Menta and then would become future director, recalls that:
"I remember when I first went to the house of him, an experience I will never forget. Narcizo summoned me to his apartment one day to 21 hours., Was in Viamonte and Paraná. I had asked to leave the jail to Las Heras with him, it was the first day of shooting of " The Cursed Doll" and went to film outdoors. Recording was quoted at 24 hours. Narcizo everything into the night, she enjoyed working at night and only to exterior scenes pray during the day when it was strictly necessary io, and did not hide the bad mood c hen had to work during the day. Usually finger raised alread r five in the afternoon. Ll When your egue department, I received Lydia (his wife until his death) and said, "Dianne , happens ... the Master is waiting for you ... "was a very dark living room with a dim light, crossed the aisle to a room with the door closed, opening it I found a completely dark room as, out of the darkness, I heard the unmistakable voice of Narcizo ... "Diana , was waiting " ... rep he turned on the light body. My must have heard screams up from vote Narcizo was facing a lighted mirror, makeup and the horrible Benito Mason. On hearing my screams, exclaimed: " course, the makeup is good ." we left to the film set, he was in prison Las Heras (after they demolished), he totally masquerading as Beni to Mason and I, in a remis. "

During the filming of" The Mark of the Werewolf "Paul Nasch and recalled a funny incident:
" One morning I was waiting in the portal the producer to vin iera the car would lead me to the set. The streetlights were still on and drizzling slightly. Heard steps q ue approached, echoing on the pavement, and I thought that the production has come bian. Characterized by special luznante man bo, I went out and ran into an unsuspecting worker who was going to work. The man's eyes widened, hit a cry that echoed a thousand echoes in the street and went herding with such energy that the heels of your feet will hit the Rear o. Without doubt, thought he had found a monster M adrid .

There was a time when the actor Donald Pleasence lived in a haunted house with his family on the subject recalled the following:
" When I started to hear these strange noises scare me much," he admitted, "and g lue or we hit ... When we remodeled the house and threw walls, allow the spiritual Spirits children ran around the house todfa as they had done so long ago. Those ghostly sounds were then all of joy ".

As a child actress Charlene Tilton was the center of paranormal activity. Remember doors opening and closing alone, air pockets around, and the feeling that something invisible followed. Another moment I remember was when a neighbor asked him to come down the volume on your radio, in a fit of anger teen girl refused. " Then things started to happen " commented Charlen and Tilton. "The cable d esenchufo alone, and when you put it back into the electrical outlet you , hard shot went backwards as throwing sparks.'s Neighbor to the witness that horror froze ."

Actress Obeth Williams J remember had an experience close ence with the supernatural, one summer I met a repertory company in residence at New Hampshire . One night she woke in the middle of the night because the bed was shaking violently. At first, believed it was all part of a dream, but then realized it was not so and that the bed was shaking really alone, and that room was getting cold. The next day he says his experience to the hostess. The owner showed no surprise. He commented that someone had died in that house.

actress and sing you Ann Miller was another actress who had a ghostly encounter. Ann Miller was the great great granddaughter of a witch medical Cherokee. He had moved to a house in Sedona , Arizona . His accountant, Joan Gibson , was sleeping in the room for human Espedido and Ann did in the master bedroom. "During the noc I woke me several times because of the bright image of a brave and fierce Indian watching me," said Ann. "The image I was terrified, and at first I thought it was all p art of a dream. I shook my head and went to take ag ua, but still there. It was not a dream . "
When at last the ghost faded away, Ann took courage to leave her room and go to investigate." Alli, lookin at tr birds from the window, there was a coyote, with the same kind of look fierce was wearing my Indian brave! At that moment I felt that was not beloved in that ca sa .
The next night while having dinner with a professor of medicine Hopi and his wife, the shaman explained to the actress that the spirits are able to take forms of coyotes and other animals. He told her that he had built his home had died there during the construction of it. The beleaguered father asked to bless the house so your child may find peace. A fetish was placed in each corner of the house and a special blessing to bestow upon the kiva, a house used for religious ceremonies, which was located on the back of the residence. Somehow, it seems that the presence of Ann Miller in the house had led to the materialization of the spirit of an Indian guardian had been placed there long ago by the witch doctor and blessing ceremonies. Ann
call a psychotherapist friend who also performed exorcisms. "She thorough cleaning of the house and work very hard to clean up the kiva. Now the house is at peace. No more fant quye asthmas with fierce expressions and me awake half the night n . "

Jorge Ben - Samba Esquema Novo (1963)

Jorge Duilio Lima Menezes , better known as Jorge Ben Jor (Rio de Janeiro, March 22, 1942 ) is one of the most important musicians from Brazil and is celebrating his birthday 69. His characteristic style fuses samba, funk, rock, pop, Maracatu, bossa nova.

At eighteen, his mother gave him a guitar and began to make presentations at parties and nightclubs. It was in one of those nightclubs that his career began in 1963, climbed the stage and sang "More than Nada" for a small audience, which was an executive of the Philips label. A week later, was released the first album of Jorge Ben . His pace hybrid brought a few problems early, when Brazilian music was split between the Jovem Guarda and traditional samba. Mostly was his first big hit in Brazil, and also one of the Portuguese-language songs popular in the United States until the present day. The song reached the point that was interpreted by renowned jazz artists such as Ella Fitzgerald, Dizzy Gilespie and Al Jarreau.

In 1989, Jorge Ben label and changed his stage name, which was modified to Benjor Jorge (Jorge Ben Jor or ). At the time, said the reason was numerology, (and in his own words, "just marketing uma sugestão" ) but, in truth, the change was due to problems with rights author.

The second CD features the band at the time ( Banda Do Ze Pretinho ). In both cases, highlights the accompaniment of an orchestra that gives a special touch to each performance.

are gathered here most of the hits of Jorge Ben Jor since its inception in 1963 and reviewing forty years of musical career. It is one of the best live albums I've heard.

The Alan Parsons Project - Tales of Mystery and Imagination (1976)

The Alan Parsons Project was a British pop rock (although there are those who classified as progressive rock) formed in 1975. Was led by Alan Parsons, Eric Woolfson and involved several lineups of musicians and the arranger and conductor Andrew Powell.
Each contributed their bit to the group, Alan Parsons as a producer, engineer and composer Eric Woolfson as executive producer, composer and vocalist, and Andrew Powell as an orchestrator and arranger. In addition, surrounding a number of musicians and vocalists for each of its projects including musicians were Ian Bairnson, David Paton and Stuart Elliot and himself as vocalists Eric Woolfson, Lenny Zakatek, John Miles, Chris Rainbow and Colin Blunstone among many others.
released several albums with great care in production and creativity as: Tales Of Mystery And Imagination, I Robot, The Turn Of A Friendly Card or Eye In The Sky, and which highlights issues such as: "Do not Let It Show "" The Turn of a Friendly Card "," Silence & I "or" Old And Wise. "
late 80's, Eric Woolfson left the band to devote himself to composing for musical theater, but they reunited briefly with the Freudian project brief. Alan Parsons has continued creating new songs but by signing their name (without the Project), due to problems with the rights Woolfson maintaining the name of the group. Currently on tour again to rescue the original name, with permission from Eric, denominating Alan Parsons Live Project.
In the years 2004-2005, Alan Parsons Live Project made a world tour to publicize their latest projects and remember the successes of always getting the "full" wherever he went.

This concept album revolves around the stories of Edgar Alan Poe, and was the first and one of the best of the Alan Parsons Project.
is curious that the project was never really a group, rather it was a thought experiment: "the album's producer," a concept more common in movies than in the recording studio. Alan Parsons is not a musician but a producer with too many musical ideas. His association with Eric Woolfson was most fortunate, the two developed the concept of each album, making music Alan, Eric wrote the lyrics, and together they selected the most suitable music for the sound they wanted to achieve in each album.
For his first job as "Project" chose a subject well suited: the musical interpretation of some of the most celebrated stories of one of the best writers of fantasy and horror tales, well executed and surrounded by an atmosphere that is undoubtedly sound the same touch of who recorded "The Dark Side of the Moon." Something the Parsons presumption is that this album was recorded without using much of electronic paraphernalia that would later become common in their work. In fact, the only synthesizer used in the original version was to simulate the effect of wind on 'Arrival'. In contrast, there are many orchestrations, electric guitars enough where needed, and keyboards to the length and breadth of the work. The vocalists did a great job: Woolfson, John Miles and Terry Sylvester.
From the point of view of the tunes, "Tales .." not the best album of progressive rock: the melodies are not memorable (although Parsons demonstrate ability to write good tunes in the future), but they are effective.
But the album has a charm that is difficult to describe. The music is varied and ranges from very quiet until just high-energy rockers. Never gets boring, and the sound is incredible. At the end of the golden years of progressive, this album was like a breath of fresh air, and somewhat pointed the way to sound more "electronic", without losing the good taste and attention to detail.
There are two versions of this album, the original 1976 LP and the remastered version of 1987, slightly different (including text read by Orson Welles and some additional synths and guitars). The first version was never released (or edited) in Cd The second is, according to the same Alan Parsons, the original version, as he conceived it and Woolfson (recordings happened that Welles did not arrive in time for inclusion in the final mix). When the Cd gained enough popularity and the industry saw the opportunity to re-edit the old LPs in the new format, Parsons took the opportunity to give the album his "little hand" cat and update their sound ... "I understand those who prefer the 1976 version but, since Poe was fascinated with the idea of resurrection, I think would have approved (the new version). I am convinced that Thales is now better, and hopefully have a new chance at life "... The instrumental
are 'A Dream Within a Dream' and 'The Fall of the House of Usher' from 'Prelude' to 'Fall', Leonard Whiting and Alan Parsons singing in 'The Raven', Arthur Brown sings 'Tell-Tale Heart' John Miles' Cask of Amontillado 'and' (System of) Doctor Tarr and Professor Fether 'and Terry Sylvester' To one in paradise. " Narration: Orson Welles and Leonard Whiting. Electric Bass: David Paton and Joe Puerta. Acoustic Bass: Darryl Runswick. Batteries: Stuart Tosh and Burleigh Drummond. Electric Guitars: Ian Bairnson, David Paton, David Pack, Alan Parsons and John Miles. Guitars: Laurence Juber and Kevin Peek. Keyboards: Billy Lyall, Christopher North, Eric Woolfson, Andrew Powell, Francis Monkman and Alan Parsons. How To Make Custom Wrestling Figures

Claudio Baglioni - Acoustic Night's Dream-Notes (2000)

When a Live becomes a double album and is a great thrill. If in addition the giver notes, memories and emotions is Claudio Baglioni, then beware, because who has witnessed a concert knows his reign as pathos in the scene, is that of a stadium, a palace, a theater or a place of art, as is the case of the tour "Acoustic," which created this work. "Acustico - Sogno di una notte di note" contains 28 songs and a medley of historical themes, accompanied by applause and shouts that catapults us into a show notes made with scenery privileged and entrusted to the imagination or at best cases, the memory. Cd
Both are what has kept the Baglioni summer tournée made (from 13 August on September 22, 2000) in the most beautiful places in Italy. an unusual spectacle, as defined by the same technological alchemy Baglioni no, no electronic games and special effects, where the Roman artist has combined some of the most greatest hits from their repertoire with songs never before performed live, unedited versions highlighted by key acoustics.
A concert of "music leggera da camera", as he said, not entirely unplugged, because color here and there sounds "electric".
But "Acustico - Sogno di una notte di note" is not a compilation or an anthology, is a world Baglioni, a poster of his artistic life, a photo album. Hearing is immersed in music games, the intertwining of the texts in their impenetrable and penetrating voice, the magic that usually accompanies a live.
The musical arrangements have been cared for with great skill by the same Gianolio Paolo Baglioni and his guitarist, and after everything else has been left to an improvisation weighted noted by the nuances of songs like "Fammi via walk."
any novel, then, but songs that fans know by heart, jewels of Italian music that dress again, so a special dream, that one night notes ...

Dressing Like A Male Teacher

Mina - Heisser Sand (2009)

In 1962 Gerhard Mendelson, Polydor label producer, offers a Mina record some singles for the German market. She accepts, and starts a successful collaboration with the teacher Scharfenberger Werner.

The first song recorded in German Mina was "Hot Arena" . Well, maybe that was singing in German too ... it was actually a slang mix of Italian and German that had some unintelligible words. However, the success was overwhelming. In March of that year, Mina is presented in a German TV show where he presented "Heisser sand" , and in less than ten days, the album sold 40,000 copies, reaching the top spot in sales, remaining in the charts 31 weeks, totaling sales of 1,300,000 copies, and its best-selling single in German. In that single

followed "Brasiliana party" and "Taboo" , two very strong. The three broke sales records and are among the best selling single records in Germany in the 1960's. Then followed among others "Captain" in 1963 (No. 17 of sales) "My door is always open" (highest position: No. 33), or "Until next time" (No. 35). All these records are now a rarity in the markets of old records, but also in Germany Mina has his legion of fans. Not long ago all these singles were collected in this CD, we present here.

What Do You Say To Congratulate On Newborn

This Film Is Not A Dream

Prince of Darkness (Prince Of Darkness, 1987), is the second of the films to which John Carpenter called d e: Apocalyptic Trilogy, the other two are: La Cosa (The Thing, and In The Mouth of Madness. John Carpenter came up with the idea of "Prince of Darkness" , when I was doing research on physics and atomic theory . On those days, recalled that " I thought it might be interesting to create a kind of supreme evil and combine it with the notion of matter and antimatter . " This idea, which would eventually be developed in the script of Prince of Darkness, it would be the first of several films with Alive Pictures, where Carpenter would charge three million dollars and would have full creative control.

A recurring dream, an ancient and mysterious cylinder that hides something and brings a text, students of physics, translators, teachers and a priest tried to untangle Nar the mystery of the cylinder and may not like what they would find.

Shep Gordon, executive producer, also was the manager of singer Alice Cooper , and suggested the singer to record a song for the movie, in turn Carpenter put the musician in film as one of the homeless, and not only that, Cooper allowed them to use in film to impale the same device he used in one of their shows before the filming of the movie, but the viewer not only will meet with Alice Cooper , you can also see the familiar faces of Victor Wong and Donald Pleasence two actors who had previously worked with Carpenter . Prince of Darkness took him to thirty days the only director to film, the film using anamorphic lenses to give each scene a subtle distortion.
As always, Carpenter achieved here a very good underwriting year of terror, delivering ominous images, full of mystery and terror, as the lady in the park with the ant in the face, the TV with ants, the scene of Professor Howard Birack and the priest observing the mysterious cylinder, the homeless, among others; Carpenter, is slowly building a story in which not only inhabits the horror in turn also coexist religion and science. Truly an awesome movie, and as the footage goes by, the director does not give the viewer time to rest.
As actors, we have the great Donald Pleasence ( 1919 to 1995 ) plays a very convincing to a priest without much faith, then we have to Victor Wong ( 1927 - 2001 ) a scientist who provides assistance to the church; Jameson Parker ( November 18, 1947 ) plays one of the students entrusted to elucidate why and s what lies behind the cylinder, the actor during the filming was to rest and I had in an old leg injury that was made while filming the series "Simon & Simon " between actors is someone who already speak a little ground up, the singer Alice Cooper ( 4 February 1948) shows his acting skills here and leaves no doubt that it does quite well, generating in the viewer a feeling of fear. Concerning subparagraph
technician, one can say that the special effects is very good, and the music composed by John Carpenter and Alan Howarth is a soundtrack of ominous perfect partner as a grim story is this. Movie
overwhelming of a cult director who knows how to make your audience have a good fright, so you know, if you want to have a good time of fear, "Prince of Darkness ", plus others from this director is the right choice.
